Formulations sold by Kirkman have been developed using an advisory board of experts in the field of science and nutrition. Top physicians and scientists worldwide continuously work with us so that Kirkman formulations remain current and on the "cutting edge" of new technology and developments.

Quality at Kirkman begins with the selection of raw materials to be used in the manufacturing process. Once an ingredient is decided upon, an intense search of all available suppliers is done. Samples and specifications are obtained from all qualified vendors for that item and an evaluation is performed based on source, potency, and impurities including heavy metals, pesticides, casein, gluten and others pertinent to that material. The best supplier (or suppliers) are chosen and become the only approved vendors for that material. Whenever possible pharmaceutical grade materials are used, but in the case of food ingredients or herbal products, pharmaceutical grades are often not available. Under those circumstances, the best source available is chosen. Often, Kirkman suppliers have to change their specifications to meet Kirkman standards.

Before any formulation is made available for sale, product stability is verified, which ensures that potency, purity and physical characteristics remain satisfactory through the "best by" date. Furthermore, a sample of every lot of product manufactured is examined periodically so that an ongoing monitoring of quality is in place at all times.

Kirkman has stringent requirements in the hiring of personnel. Our dedicated staff is aware of our quality commitment and goes out of their way to guarantee prompt, efficient service. A rigorous training program is in place for new employees before they function on their own.

Kirkman's Standard Operating Procedures are based on "Good Manufacturing Practices" as defined by the Food and Drug Administration. Kirkman does manufacture certain prescription drugs and those operating standards used in our drug manufacturing are used on all of our nutritional supplement and food products as well. Though the FDA does not require drug standards to be applied to supplements and foods, Kirkman will not compromise any product or procedure. Many companies have "double standards" for different types of products but Kirkman believes the highest quality specifications and procedures must apply to all products.

In addition to the routine testing on our products, Kirkman also monitors critical quality aspects on those products where there is any potential for a negative response or a product degradation. Examples of this are casein testing of Kirkman Colostrum Gold®, casein testing of probiotics, potency of probiotics based on number of organisms, and heavy metal and pesticide testing of cod liver oils. This special testing of critical specifications is just another example of Kirkman's commitment to quality. Kirkman products can be trusted to be among the best products available.

KIRKMAN'S SPECIALTY DOSAGE FORMS

Kirkman® strives to have dosage forms which serve the needs of all individuals regardless of age, special needs, sensitivities or allergies. Administering supplements is not always as easy as it sounds. The following unique situations can be challenging and often require special formulations to get compliance with nutritional regimens:

· Inability to swallow pills
· Number of pills required
· Objectional odor of products
· Objectional texture of products
· Objectional taste of products
· Objectional visual appearance of products
· Sensitivities to other ingredients such as flavors, colors, preservatives and/or chemicals
· Allergies to ingredients, flavors, colors, preservatives and/or chemicals

Kirkman® tries to address all of these unique situations by offering many different types of dosage forms. The dosage forms offered for a given product will be determined by the individual characteristics of that product. Examples of our variety of dosage forms include:

· Flavored and Sweetened Liquids which may be added to juices or other beverages
· Flavored and Sweetened Powders which may be dissolved in beverages or sprinkled in semi-solid foods
· Small sized easy to swallow capsules for children
· Capsules which can be easily pulled apart and utilized as powders
· Hypoallergenic forms for the sensitive individual
