Description
Kirkman's
Trimethylglycine (TMG) with Folinic Acid & Methyl B-12
Hypoallergenic Capsules
Many
clinicians are now utilizing higher doses of TMG. Kirkman's
current TMG products at 175 mg. require individuals to swallow
too many capsules to meet the physicians' recommended intake.
Kirkman has responded with a TMG 500 mg. Hypoallergenic
Capsule with Folinic Acid and B-12 (methyl). The daily dose
in these situations can now be reduced to one or two capsules
making compliance easier and more convenient.
Folic
acid intake and levels in the body must be adequate for
TMG to work biochemically. For this reason, some physicians
recommend a TMG supplement containing folic acid in the
form of folinic acid. To be active in the body, folic acid
has to be reduced twice by folate reductase enzymes and
is converted to tetrahydrofolate after which a methyl group
is added to the tetrahydrofolate. In some individuals, the
use of natural folinic acid may be more beneficial than
folic acid, because folinic acid already has attached four
hydrogen atoms and one methyl group, thereby short cutting
the complicated biochemical processes that assist purine
and nucletide synthesis, which are so important in cell
perception and response. For that reason, some doctors are
recommending TMG with folinic acid instead of the folic
acid form of folate.
Because folic acid can sometimes mask a B-12 deficiency,
vitamin B-12 has been included as well. It is also known
that vitamin B-12 works synergistically with folic acid.
The most active form of B-12 in folate chemistry is methylcobalamin
and Kirkman utilizes this form of B-12 in this product.
This new TMG product may better assist methionine metabolism,
methylation, and folate chemistry.
