As
a dietary supplement take 1 capsule at the beginning of
each meal and/or as directed by a health care practitioner.
The capsules may be swallowed whole or opened and mixed
with a small amount of food or beverage.
The
dosing for use of DPP-IV Forte™ is based on the amount
of foods ingested and not directly on the size, weight
or age of the individual. It is recognized that significant
variations exist in the dosing of enzymes. The recommendation
is to start with smaller amounts of enzymes (1/4 to ½
capsule) and gradually increase to the amount that supports
digestion or take as specifically directed by a physician.
For more comprehensive digestive activity DPP-IV Forte™
may be taken in combination with broad-spectrum enzyme
products like EnZym-Complete with DPP-IV™, Multi-Enzyme
Plus™ or other broad-spectrum enzyme preparations.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
It
is recommended that enzyme supplements be taken at the
beginning or early on in the meal to assure appropriate
mixing of and breakdown of all foods and protein peptides.
For optimal results the capsules may be pulled apart and
the contents mixed with a small amount of food and/or
beverages. Avoid mixing with foods or beverages that will
be heated above 130° F or microwaved, as the activity
of the enzymes may be adversely affected.
WHEN TO UTILIZE
The DPP-IV enzyme provides support of digestion when there
are hidden, accidental or intended exposures to casein
and gluten in the diet. Those following a GF/CF diet as
well as those who have accidental or intended exposures
to gluten and casein-containing foods can use this supplement.
The DPP-IV Forte is optimally used in conjunction
with a full spectrum of digestive enzymes including other
protease and peptidase enzymes for maximal digestion of
the fullest range of protein containing and protein peptide
producing foods.
SAFETY OF PLANT ENZYMES
The DPP-IV enzyme supplement is recognized as safe, considered
nontoxic, and of the highest quality. These plant-derived
enzymes are generally well tolerated to optimally fortify
digestion, however it is suggested that the enzymes be
introduced slowly and gradually increase the amount, based
on the volume of foods being ingested.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Those
individuals with severe IgE mediated allergic reactions
(anaphylaxis, severe asthma) to inhalant mold should consult
with a physician before talking plant based enzyme products.
Generally these enzymes are exceedingly well tolerated,
even in the sensitive individual, however specific direction
from a physician or other a health care practitioner is
advised.
The
use of proteolytic enzymes should not be taken in the
absence of normal gastric mucosa, such as is found in
individuals who have a peptic/duodenal ulcer. Consult
with a physician for specific recommendations.
